Christmas 2002

Dear Friends and Family,

What a great season of the year!! Carrie and I have been truly blessed with another incredible year here in Monterey, California, and look forward to (almost) another year here in this California paradise. So much has happened this year so here is the annual update.

Alex is now 10 and continues to get taller by the day. Still interested in school, he’s scoring high grades and again participated in baseball, soccer, and now basketball. Although his interests are maturing (no public hugs nor kisses for Dad) he is still remains our little boy who isn’t so little any more. And of course, the Nintendo enthrallment continues on and on and on…

Stephanie, now 8, is truly her mother’s daughter. She is hovering at the top of her class academically and also played baseball, soccer, and now basketball. Along with Girl Scouts and well on her to way to mastering the piano, she’s my little Renaissance princess. She has both her mother’s strong will and soft heart but best of all, she still curls up with her daddy when we watch TV.

Carrie was challenged this year with college classes but made it through with flying colors. Not that the classes slowed her down; she still volunteered, coached, and was involved in many neighborhood and social activities. She enjoyed the many visits from family this year and looks forward to the break over the holidays.

Buster is living the good life by sleeping on our king size bed most of the day (after his morning run) and then waiting for us to get home so he can jump around like a third child. Then more sleeping. Jump, sleep, jump, sleep…

I’m still hacking away at my degree at the Naval Postgraduate School and will be done by next September when we will likely get stationed at Quantico, Virginia. I’ve been busy with my running, studying, coaching, volunteering, and webpage maintenance. I completed two marathons a week apart and a 50 mile endurance course two weeks after that, injury-free thank God. I plan on doing the same next year so pray for my lack of common sense!

As a family, we could not ask for more. A good church, loving friends, and a close-knit family relationship made this year another successful experience. We simply enjoy each day and strive to make each one special.

We want to wish you happy holidays as we head north to Seattle for Christmas and then to Hawaii for the New Year. Our invitation is open to anyone who wants to visit us here in Monterey. We promise you will not be disappointed.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and God Bless You all.

Love,
Jason, Carrie, Alex, Stephanie, and Buster
