Dear
Friends and Family,
We
spent 2007 in San Diego with no moves!
Alex
is now in 10th grade and continues his talent as a graphic designer.
This year, he expanded his skills in Photoshop, animation, and
is now delving into Flash as his talents are progressing with
the technology. He also passed everyone in the family in the
height department by cracking the 6-feet mark. Driving is the
next big step as he gets closer to his college years.
Stephanie,
now 13, continues her multi-talented blossoming. She stays busy
volunteering at an animal shelter, spending time with friends,
playing basketball, and pursuing her interests in reading, playing
piano, and with a new laptop, computer time. Yes, she is adapting
well into her teenage years.
Carrie
is still happily busy every day of the year. She still volunteers
for the Semper Fi Fund (donated funds for injured Marines) and
managed to complete her business degree. Now there are two college
graduates in our house. Maintaining a house full of two teenagers
and a busy Marine, her capable hands are full and yet she provides
the stability we all need.
Buster,
our dog, is still a fixture in our house. He doesn’t have
dogabetes, cancer-lumps, nor tape worms despite Carrie’s
“doggie-chondriac” claims.
I
celebrated my 20th year as a Marine in the same place I started.
I relinquished Command in June as Company Commander and became
the Operations Officer for the Battalion. I also accepted my
last promotion to Major so it looks like we will stay until
summer of 2009. I still (try) to read as much as consciousness
will allow and managed to complete 4 marathons, 3 half-marathons,
1 50-Mile Ultra, and 56 miles of a 100-Mile attempt. I still
try to get to my webpage and blog but with my schedule, my goals
far outreach my available hours each day. But I refuse to let
that slow me down.
As
a family, we’ve had a wonderful year together. We were
able to go back to Washington together and hosted most of our
family who came to visit sunny San Diego. We got our Virginia
house sold after a lot of drama and came out unscathed after
the wildfires here in San Diego. Obviously, God has looked out
for us.
We
want to wish you happy holidays. Our invitation is open to anyone
who wants to visit us here in San Diego. Just let us know and
we’ll make it happen. You will NOT be disappointed.
Merry
Christmas, Happy Holidays, and God Bless You all.
Love,
The Groses (http://www.grose.us)
Jason,
Carrie, Alex, Stephanie, and Buster
