How Did I Get Here?

I ran with George today.

Finally got his old broken ass out on the road to run with me but only because I assured him I was still recovering from my marathon, which I was, and would be slow.

But it was me who was hurtin’.

You’ll remember, George had some trouble at the New York Marathon last year and then it got worse so he swore off running…until he got picked to do the St. George (no relation) Marathon in Utah. Why THAT one brought him back, I don’t know.

But, OH, NOW you want to run with me all the sudden you have a marathon to train for. I see how it is.

We ran along the piers but it was hot, I wasn’t on my game, and there were too many tourists milling around so I didn’t really enjoy it all that much.

But it was good to run with George again even though I couldn’t keep up much of a conversation.

You know, with the hyperventilating and vomiting.
