How Did I Get Here?

Day 6 of the Plague and things don’t seem to be slowing down. I’m going to have to go into medical again tomorrow because a flu shouldn’t last this long or be this bad.

In my continuing quest to divert the misery, today’s happy theme will be puppies!

Jeanie the Marine Mom sent me an email announcing she has a new grandpuppy and they named him Jake.

To understand the full impact of this, you’ll have to know that Jeanie had a dog named Rocky and he was good friends will my Buster.

Last year when I went back to attend my 20th high school reunion, I was staying with Jeanie and Lew when they got the call that Rocky had been hit by a car and killed. It was a very sad Sunday and they have been dealing with that ever since.

The best news about all this is that Jake, the new puppy, is Rocky’s stepbrother. Seems their dad was somewhat of a rolling stone, if you know what I’m talking about. Yep, he loved his bitches….anyway….

Glad to see Rocky’s bloodline is back with Jeanie and her family. Here was my first email to the little tike:

Welcome to the world, Jake. You come from good stock and you don’t know it but you happened to get some of the greatest humans ever.
