Jason's
Gulf War I pages

Jarhead Full Of Shit

It's no secret that I think this book is pure trash. Since the movie is based on the book, I have to assume the same of the movie although I'm not going to add one penny to the coffers of this travesty which aims to make a quick buck on the coattails of the rake-mucking untruths ala Fahrenheit 911.

I've already outlined in detail why I thought this book was the silly, immature whining of a jaded, self-important lance corporal out to make his fortune by selling out the Marine Corps.

But don't take my word for it. I only have 18+ years in the Marine Corps as both a Corporal in the same Gulf War, a Sergeant before earning a commission, and currently a Captain of Marines. Here are some emails I received, some from the very men who served with the idiot Swofford.

People Who Actually Served With Swofford:

"His book is an insult to their accomplishments and memories."
"I was close to this narcissistic knucklehead for some time"

Military Members:

Sgt Rocke's Outstanding Page-By-Page Reaction.
"I’ve seen enough crap in my life, and I saw enough death and devistation over there."
"This line of rhetoric is straight out the extreme-left’s playbook."
".. sorely underwhelmed."
"I would love to see this Swofford's SRB or DD-214. "

Other Reactions:

"I have decided to use each single page of Swofford's book as toilet paper when I go fishing and I have to take a serious dump!"
"When do I read the part where he actually engages the enemy??"
"The usual 'Hollywood' garbage"
"I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed in a book before."
"Anthony Swofford not only disgraced himself in this book but attempted to disgrace his fellow Marines and the Marine Corps"
