Went
into this a bit sick (involved
antibiotics and codeine) but what an opportunity. I was
invited to this by the Achilles
Track Club along with the Wounded Warriors from Balboa
who hand-cranked the race. I had a great weekend with my family
and all the scheduled events centered around treating us like
kings. Free transportation, free entry, free lodging at the
New Otani, and celebration
dinners at the Queen Mary
and the firefighters of Los Angeles. We even ended up meeting
a celebrity
after the race. In fact, the only drawback of the entire weekend
was my substandard performance during the race. Here are the
