Major
Patch was my first boss as an Officer. He was the Executive
Officer of 1st Tank Battalion and over a span of a few years,
became much more to me: running partner, confidant, friend,
and fellow Horseman (a foursome of poker playing, marathon
runners). His unique personality and dry wit made for many
fond memories.

Major
Patch is a fellow marathon runner who ran with me in the 2000
Wild Wild West and the 2001
Wild Wild West trail marathons.
In
2002, Major Brent Norquist sent this humorous
picture that had me laughing out loud. He mentioned that
it should have been over the desk of Major Patch, as his personality
reflected the sentiment to a tee. In response, this
is what I made and sent back.

Lines somewhat unique to Sir Phil preserved here for all to

… yes I am” (from a commercial where a
guy coming off a plane claims to be the person the chauffeur
is waiting for. The chauffeur looks at him and then the
sign he is holding then says “You’re Mr.
Yokishito?” and the very white guy delivers the
line with conviction. Sir Phil uses it for almost any occasion
when you state the obvious such as “Hey, Sir Phil
you’re here already.”)
“Chicking”
something such as a car. It means you broke it.
"Snapperhead":
from an Andrew Dice Clay movie. He uses it as a general
greeting.
“Try
not. Only do.” normally done in the Yoda voice
no matter the social setting.
